I thought I should share this information as it may be helpful for those restoring/retouching JBL grey compression drivers, horns etc. I found an EXACT match for the grey color. I matched enamel paint to a set of 2441's. They were a bit worn on the rear covers from sliding around and wear and tear over the years, I am not 100% sure that it will match all vintage grey drivers though it also matched my Alinco 2405's as well. I would guess that the grey may have changed slightly over the years so make sure you do a test prior to application. It is Sherwin Williams ULTRADEEP base # 6403-25775 -Oil Base Satin. I have included a pic of the formula. I textured my touch up with a small brush and simulated texture by dabbing the brush on the tacky surface. I baked the rear cover in a toaster oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. It did not replicate the original wrinkle texture finish 100% but looks very nice. It was a rather significant improvement over the original beat up rear covers.

Do you have a picture of the painted driver?

Thanks,
