JBL 4412... Different wiring for woofer?

Hi,

Just removed the components of these speakers for a refinishing project. I noticed that when removing the woofer on the RH speaker, the wires were crossed.. positive to negative, negative to positive. I wonder... did JBL do this to keep the the low frequencies in phase, or did someone other than myself get it wrong?

Well thanks for that... based on the pdf, there seems to be no wiring change for either L or R woofer. Strange that the last owner would leave them out of phase like that... or maybe it was a mistake. These were definitely re-coned at one time. Components are in great shape, cabinets not so much. Fun project!

FWIW, also check the connectors on the crossover. On those models using spade lug connections, those can get reversed too.
