Wondering if anyone else has had the frustrating experience of trying to fix the "buzz" that sometimes becomes a problem with the 2431h driver. Often, this is the result of metal debris within the magnetic gap or a misalignment of the gap itself. Usually, my approach is to remove any debris with masking tape and in the case of a misaligned gap i'll beat the driver barbarically with a deadblow until it acquiesces to my whims. Anybody else attempted this and have a different approach?

Check for creep of the mylar surround where it is attached to the mounting ring. It can prevent/interfere with the diaphragm assembly being properly centered in the driver core. All you have to do is trim it with a razorblade and you are good to go. Rob:)

Subwoof - that seems to be the problem we have 90% of the time, hence the hammer to knock it back into the center.

Rob - Is this the Mylar surround you're referring to? 64552
