I don't believe it is a sign of the times. There are some great companies about the place that make very good products. Porsche, Ferrari, Mesa Boogie haven't taken the easy path to make the quick buck. If they did that they would have to compete with Asia and as well all know, companies that try that are usually doomed to failure.

I'm not impressed with that either , BUT I have heard some drivers with those cheap characteristics that sounded pretty good.

I agree..I have some TR 225's JBL towers w/that grade of sp. But...
they put out big sound all night long w/PA use....FK
