Looking for some technical glue info! what are the chances!
Ok, so the 2213h driver has a cloth/paper accordian type cone surround, on assembly a coating of something (glue) is applied on to top of this surround to seal and stiffen.

The question:
What is the glue? JBL part number? Type of glue?

The Problem: this glue/sealant like coating is severly degrading and turning from semi-solid back to liquid. It's like the hardner or curing agent has evaporated allowing it to return to it's uncured state.

The solution (theoretical): I believe if I can get exactly the same (specification - chemical composition) glue/sealant? by gently working in another coat on top, the hardner/curing agent in the fresh coat will be enough arrest further deterioration in the existing glue/sealant.

What I have deduced so far: This material is not the same substance as the glue used to attach the surround to the cone. It's not the same stuff used to attach the voicecoil to the cone, it's not the same stuff that is used to attach the dustcap to the cone and it's certainly no kind of epoxy.

What is this mystery substance?
