Would it be possible to replace 175ND With D2430K (or D2435) in i.e. Array1000? Crossover might be an issue ofcoruse, but I'm thinking pyshical on the horn.

No, they are what they are. A $200 compression driver with a $50 woofer. I just don't see what the gain would be in putting an order of magnitude more expensive compression driver into the mix unless the woofer were upgraded too. I could be wrong.

JBL does use both the 175Nd-3 (S4700) and the D2430K (M2) with the new 2216Nd... so there's that. ;)

Why not try some 100fe (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?33559-100fe-12) instead of the array10 (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?11980-ARRAY-10)?
