Hello and greetings all. Hope everyone is doing good.

I have a pair of JBL L-7's. While playing with a good amount of watts / volume I lost the sound in one of the 12 inch LE-120's.

Cone still moves freely in voice coil. I pulled the speaker and tested speaker directly using speaker terminals, still no sound.

I didn't know a blown speaker would still move freely. I thought the voice coil always locked up from mis-alignment or excessive heat when it was blown.

Any leads on replacement cone kits? I searched and didn't have any luck.

Thanks,
Steve

It might be one of the leads that run from the voice coil to the terminals, which is easy to fIx.

Checked both wires, seem attached correctly.

It's a hard driver / cone kit to find.
Thanks

I think that there are often Synthesis 3 subs on ebay, (S3S) and that woofer should work.

Act quickly and you could have a whole set of replacement drivers for an L7 (shipping is a bit high):
