Anyone else experience typing issues while posting to forums? Missed letters, symbols, spaces, capitalization, unable to highlight text, scroll etc..
Takes more time to make corrections than to post content.
Only happens on the Lansing website, all others OK.??
Weird..

I've seen it! I know it can't be me, I type for a living ...!

I blame it on spell check -yeah, spell check, thats the ticket!

of course, the worst thing is when you go back to edit a post and it removes
ALL your paragraph spacing so you wind up with just a huge blob of text!!

The other forums I go to that use vBulletin software don't have that problem ...

Oh good, it`s not only me. I was beginning to question my sanity :)
Can the spell check feature be bpassed?

It's not just you. I can often way out type this site on my iPhone and can kill it on a keyboard, and I am not a typist. Strange, it didn't used to be that way.

This morning it seems fine however.

When you open the screen to reply to this, click the top left button on this screen that has the black A/on the slash and a blue underlined blue A under the slash and see if that helps.

You can also set your editor options in "Settings" -> "My Account" -> "General Settings" -> "Message Editor Interface" (it's towards the bottom of the page). I have mine set on "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing", for what that's worth. There is a note:

When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

It seems to work OK with Chrome browser, but the browser on my tablet struggles with format sometimes.

I fight that HBoT "feature" often ..frustrating.

Have been on other vBulletin sites that don't have the LHF idiosyncrasies too.

search function is a joke ... and yes, I know it's free to us users, but ...

upgrade time ?

Works fine on my Mac.

Why do you bother with the site search when you can use Google Advanced Search by domain name? It even accepts two and three-letter keyword searches. :dont-know:

Kind of sad when the site's search won't even do "JBL"!

AudioKarma uses vBulletin too ... Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.8.6

CyclingNews uses an old version - Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.8.7

Scroll down here at the Lansing site - Powered by vBulletin® (http://www.vbulletin.com) Version 4.1.8

And if you go directly to forums on the vBulletin site - Powered by vBulletin® (https://www.vbulletin.com) Version 5.1.3

Maybe there is a reason AudioKarma and CyclingNews DID NOT upgrade??

Well gee , those mac's are really magic :banghead:

Just to make sure that you know what we are talking about ... plse,
make a post and save it ... all's normal

Then go back in to edit it ...oh, now you want to add a picture, so go to
ADVANCED so you can send the attachment. upload the pic and SAVE
and re-post.

All the formatting has disappeared , no more spacing ..ie: big blob of text.

Does it to me & HJ too. Let's see if your super mac is immune. :dont-know:

And yes, I did what you said and you're right (above example). Sucks to have to edit in "advanced" mode. Might as well add a new post or just edit without advance. That seems to work.

Seems my issues are related to Internet Explorer (big surprise :D)
I tried Firefox as a browser and it seems to be working just fine.

I use Chrome & the formatting ( Dyslexia ) problem occurs every time I use the advanced editor ( upon doing a re-edit ).

:)I use Safari on a Mac and have exactly the same experience. A mild annoyance that is corrected by realizing it and reinserting paragraph breaks.
