I remember some of the early ads that touted the technical achievements of these companies and these include:

* edge-wound voice coils
* Cast not stamped frames
* Alnico motors
* compression drivers and cast horns
* wave horns
* diamond diaphrams
* Foam surrounds
* bullet/slot tweeters
* bass horn cabs
* very high sensitivity
* bi-amplification

Are most of these now standard in the industry?

None are standard, but within pro markets, bi-amplification, very high sensitivity, and compression drivers are nearly standard. When you cover home too, all bets are off. At the higher end of audio cast frames are pretty much standard though there are some high-end plastic framed specialty drivers.
