Mounting JBL 2405 tweeters

I notice there seem to be fairly random ways of mounting the JBL 2405 slot tweeters. In all the actual JBL models I've seen them in they are flush mounted.

Has anyone noticed any difference or measured any difference in the axis response to the different ways of mounting them.

On the L300 they actually stick out about 1/4 inch.

Yep, and on the 4350/4355 they are flush due to the 1" baffle thickness... JBL didn't seem to think it mattered. Quite possibly at the frequency range they operate in, it doesn't matter.

Thank you for that I'm just designing on the fly a 4 way system so that information is extremely helpful.
