I just bought a pair of nicely preserved L26s with re-foamed woofers. Whoever did the refoam job apparently used some kind of "universal" kit with an outer gasket consisting of four sections, each with TWO cutouts for mounting screws for a total of eight cutouts around the circumference. Since the 125A uses only four mounting screws, there are are four of the cutouts that are unused which gives a non-original, less than "clean" look.

The kit used looks like this:

I know I'm being picky but I'd like these vintage Decades to look as original as possible. Where can I buy the original-style 125A outer gasket, with only four cutouts for the mounting screws? The one I'm l seeking should look like this:

Also, are these gasket sections easily removed without tearing the woofer foam? Are they mounted with a mild adhesive? Thanks!

The glue used on you speaker would probably make it hard to remove all of the gasket without tearing the foam, but since its of paper it might be possible to peel it of layer by layer until you only have one thin layer left glued to the surround, leave that and glue a new gasket on top. http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?35161-Source-of-foam-gaskets-for-JBL-woofers or a direct link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-Altec-Neoprene-Speaker-Gasket-OEM-10-/310268589692?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item483d72f67c
