Hello all
Well I finally can say I'm pleased with one of my speaker building effort/adventures. I picked up a pair of 2470 a while back to replace the horrid Emenince CD's I was running on Eminence H290 bi-radials. With 2421 diaphrams in the 70's they were a major improvemnt over the Eminence cd's but the mid-range wasn't there to my liking so Bo scored me a couple 2123j's from the tent sale. By now I had a stack of temp box's and horns piled up in the living room much to the GF's chagrin (sp) (the dual loaded 15"s in the bass cabinets didn't help that aspect) . Wanting to "appease" the gf I decided to assemble a more homogenous setup. I always wanted to try a wooden horn to see if that would smooth out the top end a bit, so after a some measuring and profiling of the 2345 horn I had holding the shop door open I fabbed up a pair wooden clones to try out. All I can say is HOLY BLOWN AWAY. I have never heard such a smooth detailed speaker in my recollection, definitley worth the effort.
