...is this product used for keeping FOAM surrounds soft? ...I used this several years ago, and I cannot remember now....

...it is applied using cotton swabs, I believe....

NO!!! I wouldn't put anything on foam. The DOT treatment only works on Lans-a-loy.

Yes, do not use dot3 on foam surrounds, foam should always be flexible but if they aren't, then they simply need to be replaced.

If you use brake fluid on lans-a-loy surrounds, it will eventually seep into the white aquaplas cone near the surround and stain it gray. The stain never goes away and looks terrible.
