I have two 18" 2245 drivers lying around and I would like to build some bass horn cabs for them.

This thread is interesting:

Are there any plans for a single bass cab horn that looks like the ones in this thread?

The 2245 woofer is a very wrong driver for that application. It is a bass reflex driver.

Better fit a 2240. Yes it has been done.

Go to http://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=18superscooper for plans for a horn using an 18" 2240

Check out the Hog Scoop (https://www.google.se/search?q=hog+scoop&espv=210&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=QSueUuX5Le_y7AaF8YCIDA&ved=0CDEQsAQ&biw=1376&bih=687&dpr=0.9) as well. 2240 is the way to go.

Think y'all helpful folks missed the point. He already has 2 2245 drivers he'd like to use ...
maybe you can suggest better applications/designs for those drivers?

Of course, sorry. You could do a traditional vented enclosure. But I believe a Mass Loaded Transmission Line (MLTL) will work well for this driver since it has low Q and ok BL.

A quick simulation in Hornresp of an MLTL with internal volume of 300 liters (about 10 cubic feet) gives a maximum sound pressure of 125-130 dB placed in a corner. An MLTL is like a horn with a port at the end instead of a full horn mouth. You will have to deal with overtones since it is a quarter wave device.
