I'm pretty sure we went through this recently on a similar monitor model and the prevailing opinion is that nothing of the sort exists.

If you click on the 4350A reference in the library on this site you'll get the brochure for the 4350B: http://www.lansingheritage.org/html/jbl/specs/pro-speakers/1980-4350b.htm
or here: http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/4350b.pdf

And there's this chart: http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Systems Reference Charts/Studio Monitor Series.pdf

That's about the best you can do as far as I know.

Perhaps you'd be better served by simply asking what you want to know and those with the knowledge will likely contribute freely. :dont-know:

P.S. the caps-lock key is on the left!

Hi KTG;

Did you buy the pair from Plymouth?

There was a "manual" on the bay last year that I was going to buy, I got distracted and missed it. Don't hold me strictly to this but I think it was very similar but different than the links provided by BMWCCA. It looked to be a four page with an exploded view and about as much text as the afore mentioned links. To the best of our collective knowledge we think that this is about all there is.

All the best,
Barry.

The copy is not good, but readable.

That's great information. Can it be included in the Library here? Anyone have the same for other 43xx monitors? ;)

Thanks for posting these pictures !!!

I recently purchased a pair of 4350B's and will now continue to get the rest of the equipment required for my new wall of sound.

is the 5234A the only way to go for a frequency dividing network?

As I have never used something like this I have questions.

How to get each channel high and low output from the pre-amp to the 5234 inputs?

Any advice on amps? Do I really need more than the rated 200w for low and 100w for high.

It didn't come with an active crossover when you purchased them??

You don't. The left and right output from the pre-amp feed the input to the 5234. The 5234 feeds the amps for high and low. Power wise 200 and 100 should be fine unless you plan on playing loud in a big space.

You could use another crossover as the 5234 is a bit dated. Just match the crossover frequency and slope for a stock alignment.

it sounds best with the original jbl urei cards in either the 5234 or 5235 crossovers. After market crossovers will do too , I’ve tried Behringer and dbx , but it doesn’t sound as good.

Update.... I was able to get a 5234a with the correct crossover cards. It worked well, no pops. I then played with many different amps to get the bass moving. The sound came out and it was LARGE. The 5234 seemed moody not sure how to explain, sound was different t on Tuesday compared to last Sunday...?

I decided to make some changes and am now more satisfied with the following setup.

JBL 4350B installed
12" above floor, 5' apart, few inches off the wall.

Biamp speaker wire Belden 9497

2x McIntosh MC7270 amps,
1 for low, 1 for High

Sublime K231 active crossover with 250hz cards

McIntosh C2700

My old Technic Sl1200mk2 (upgraded with Zu Audio phono interconnect, Stanton 680EL) has never sounded so BIG.
