Hey,

Currently I own a pair of 2235h in 5 cubic f. each... How would the 2240h in about 9cubic f. each compare to my 15" woofers ?

2235h can handle a lot more conemovement, but 2240h has a lot more conearea....
I think 2235h has an xmax of 9mm whereas 2240 just has 5,5mm.
In addition the 2240h seems to have a 25gr lighter cone and stronger magnet e.g. BL-Factor... Does it sound any better ??

Thanks a lot,
Olaf

Two different drivers. Depends on your application. I used the 2225H in the 5ft3 4507 cabinets. Sound was very good as far as 'slam' was concerned, but they lacked the low end of the 2235H.The 2235H offers a better overall sound and enjoyment in HiFi use.The 2225 & your 2240 are intended for PA or Sound Reinforcement use. Not as good as the 2235 or 2245 for Hifi.

Two different drivers indeed for two different purposes. the 2235 is high fidelity (sound reproduction) and the 2240 is for sound reinforcement. The 2240can be reconed as a 2245 for loud sound reproduction.

How is the 2242 VS the 2245? I`we got an offer to buy 2242 for resonable money. The 2245`s are hard to get. Mabye i can get as an alternative JBL sub 1500 (twice the price)
