Hello, everyone.
I am new here and this is my 1st post.

I want to start a new DIY project to clone JBL 4350A or 4355. Which one is better? Wood work is waiting for the decision. I Need your suggestion. Any message will be appreciated.

I have collected such items:
1. 2405 * 2
2. 2405H * 2
3. 2441 * 2
4. 2311 *2
5. 2202H * 2
6. 2231A * 4
7. Crown DC300A * 1
8. CROWN VFX2A Filter *1

I can get a pair of 2440 with a higher price, if it is must needed. I also can get a pair 2202A with expensive price. But I am hesitating.

And the crossover, I need someone here to build it for me.

Thanks.

A mixture of 2 models.
Some references do not match.

Thank you for your reply.

So 4350b is more closer to me. What is the internal crossover for 4350b? Is it 3107, same as 4350A?

4350B is using 2231H for low, can I use 2231A instead?

Yes, 2231A for A

Use either pair of 2405's.
Use the 2202H.
Use the 2441 and 2311. You need to add the 2308 slant plate diffuser.
Use the 2231's. Ideally you would use 2235's, but the 2231's will also be good.
Build the updated 3155 network Widget made for his 4355 project. You could find someone here to build it, but you could probably also do it yourself. The thread is here: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?774-4355-3155-clones&highlight=3155

The Crown amp will do for the woofers. You probably already have another amp planned for the upper three elements. When using that Crown crossover always turn the power amps on last and off first.

Thanks for your guys!

This forum is really helpful.

I will use 2231A*2 for low, 2202H for mid range, 2441 for high, 2405 (16 o) for ultra high.

3155 crossover will be used, but it is a updated CC version and well tuned based on the DCRs.

Regarding the ultra high, some documents say it is 2405, some say it is 2405H. Why that? one is 16 ohm , another is 8 ohm. That should cause the crossover be different.

Yes. The crossover slope and frequency is dependent on the impedance of the driver.

Is it good if I use the 4350's baffle for my 4355? The low part is 2231A, mid range is 2202H, high is 2441, ultra high is 2405. I like the 4350 baffle more than 4355. The six holes make me exciting!
