Removing woofer from L100

Asking for a little help...a buddy of mine needs to remove the woofers on his L100's to investigate loose speaker connectors (lock type). He is the original owner and knows that they have never been removed. Is there any trick to it and are there any concerns about breaking the seal? Or do you just unscrew them and pop them out? Thanks!

They are often stuck to the baffle. I remove the screws, being careful not to push on them hard once they are loosened. You don't want to push the nuts out of the back of the baffle. Then put a screwdriver into the empty screw hole and try to lever the woofer frame up. It sometimes helps to turn the speaker face down and let gravity help. Slap the back a few times.

- keep the enclosure in its normal position
- just unscrew a little the 4 screws (they must remain engaged)
in order to allow 1 or 2 mm clearance from the frame driver to the baffle
- play music with low bass program at "loud level" (be careful regarding Xmech ...)
- let the vibrations make the job
- after few time (be patient) the driver normaly unstucks by himself from the baffle
- unscrew completely the 4 screws and take the driver apart

I just wanted to follow up on this. We tried to loosen the woofers and played some bass heavy music and just couldn't get them out, even face down. Finally we used a right angle allen wrench key in one of the bolt holes and gently "popped" :eek: the woofer out. Man, after 40+ years they didn't want to go anywhere!

Man, after 40+ years they didn't want to go anywhere!damn! i have been lucky with some 2212/2213s :hmm:... but your technique is right too :yes:
