Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the S2S subwoofer? I was looking for a passive sub (for music) to go with my spare Yamaha PC2002M amp and I found a new S2S at a good price so I jumped on it. It will fill in the bottom end of my JBL L5s. I plan to use a DBX223 crossover with it. Just looking to see if anyone had any opinions. Thanks.

Specs don't look too good for what you want to do. A "sub" that has a response no lower than 35Hz is not really a sub for home duty. You'll be missing the bottom octave.

:) I wouldn't pooh-pooh it so quickly... It's designed as a THX certified subwoofer
with an intended crossover of 80Hz. No doubt it will add more impact, especially
vs. the L5 woofer complement at higher listening levels. Room gain will also
affect the LF rolloff slope in a beneficial way. It may not be the end-all for synth
and the lowest pipe organ frequencies, but give it a whirl.

It will make as much bass as you want.:p

Give it some boost down around 25hz and lots of good clean power and hold on!:D

Oh well...It looked like just the thing I was trying to DIY. It has the added benefit of matching the finish on the L5s (not important but nice anyway). I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
