That looks to be an original pre-war Lansing H-808 ( pre-Altec ) .

Did you buy it ?

Actually yes on an impulse. I knew it looked somewhat correct and I put some money aside for one. I'm confused about the brackets that are on the top of the horn. Any help? The two holes for the driver are much closer together than the bolts on my 802. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

- The circle diameter that the mounting studs are arranged around, is/was 2 1/4" for both JBL & Lansing Manufacturing .

- Altec used a 3" diameter to arrange it's bolts around .

- What size ( circle diameter ) does your horn use ?

- The "brackets" aren't important ( IMO, for identity purposes ) since anyone with access to a hardware store could have added them ( & then paint them up to look original ) .

:)

Great horn! It might be a Stephens horn too. They made one very similar to the Lansing horn in the 40s and early 50s. It had brackets like this too. It is a nice sounding horn.
