I own 2 pairs of XPL 140`s and are not really happy with the deep bass performance.
I see the XPL 200 uses a 12" woofer wich i have seen in speakers like the 3 way 4412.
and have to ask: would a 3 way speaker with a good 12" and the 095Ti - 046 Ti combo be an alternative or are the 115H used in the XPL 200 a must to get a good system?

I am currently in progress with rebuilding a pair of 2206H woofers with foam surrounded cones, softer spiders and a set of longer voice coils, these are what i want to try out together with the XPL mids and highs. should i expect any particular problems with mating a 12" with a 3" dome at 900hz?
The plan is to use the XPL 140 filters for the mid and tweeter and run the 12" via a separate amp and a mini dsp.

A friend of mine might sell his XPL200 if you are interested (send me an PM if you are and I can ask him)

Why not add the 12" drivers in separate enclosures as stereo subs? This keeps the XPL140 intact, including the networks, and you can take some load off the stock woofer for improved mid bass, plus get the extra dig from the 12" drivers below 100 Hz or so with your mini DSP.

I should have worded myself different, i do allready does what you suggests with 15`s, but wants more omph down to 50hz,

I can mobilize 4 15`s (2226 with 2235 parts) from 50hz and down, but i want the 2x12" from 800-900hz and down to 50hz

I like the idea of a 4412-ish XPL. I prefer the term.. XPL100T.:D

I hope you continue your effort and tell us how it goes!
