I'm pretty sure this is what they were intended for - but how close can you have them and expect them to image properly?

i have a shelf above my desk - or i suppose I could suspend them from the ceiling - but i do a fair amount of critical listening - and don't want to waste time and money on them if they aren't going to do the trick - although i'm pretty certain that the 43xx series mixed about 2/3 of the albums that I listen too LOL

they will be part of a hybrid system - Mac c-11 preamp, Mc240 (or Mc2105 power amp) to play vinyl while i work, but when I'm mixing, i'll be coming from an Apogee DAC directly into the power amp.

is 4' x 4' x 4' spacing too close for them to image properly? I don't think i have the room to separate them 5' unless i suspend them.
thoughts?

I cant see the 4311s 3 drivers blend homogeneously nor provide any sort of stereo image at those dimensions.
You`d be better off with smaller, 2 ways imho.

what do you suspect the minimum distance would need to be for the 4311 to image properly?
Thanks
