No picture of the diaphragms themselve. Just the boxes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radian-1245-8-PREMIUM-JBL-REPLACEMENT-DIAPHRAGM-/181020447692?pt=US_Pro_Audio_Speaker_Drivers_Horns&hash=item2a25a8d3cc

They've been around for about 20 years....makes a JBL sound like a Reinkus-Heinz.

Hi. I am well aware of the Radians themselve (I have a set in mt 2441 drivers). But do you say some knock-offs have been around for 20 years?

I have found the Radian diaphragms to be useful in JBL compression drivers. They employ an aluminum diaphragm with a plastic (mylar I think) outer suspension, and are very well behaved. I have compared them to stock diaphragms in 2440 and found the response nearly identical in measurement and sound. For drivers like 2445 with tizzy sounding titanium diaphragms, the Radians are a real upgrade for hi fi. Radian also makes a version to convert the phenolic 2480 and 2482 to aluminum, bringing new possibilities for these plentiful old prosound drivers.

The first Radian replacement diaphragms's I tried were in 1992. 2441 replacement diaphraghms. It made them sound just like a pair of 2" exit Reinkus Heinz drivers I used for a few months. Not terrible by any means, just not what you expect a large format JBL driver to sound like.

BTW My intial post was leading to an eBay ad for what was most likely Chinese copies of a Radian diaphragm... Hence the tittle. ;)

They seem like legit NOS units judging by the photos. Pictures of the actual diaphragms would have been helpful.

I purchased two for my 2447's (diff seller though). In my case, one is shipping directly from Radian, not China.
