JBL L-110 or L-110A

Hi,

I am trying to understand if my L-110 speakers are the L-110 or the L-110A model.
I have two sets one has "A" embedded just after the serial number and the other has "A H" embedded just after the serial number.

Is there any difference? Does it mean both are L-110A or just L-110?

Thanks. There is difference. It looks like L-110A crossover has some improvement.

I am still looking for a way to identify if my JBLs are L-110 or L-110A.
As I mentioned one pair has the letter "A" die stamped next to the serial number and other pair has the letters "A H" die stamped next to the serial. I also wonder what these letters mean.
Even though it's possible, I don't want to open the woofers to look in.

I have never seen a pair of L110s with just the "A" die stamped after the serial number. One telltale sign is the port. If you can look in the port and see the dampening insulation they are the original L110 with the LE111A (alnico magnet)woofer. If the port is an elbow and therefore you would not be able to see the dampening insulation, they are the L110A. The "A" after the serial number indicates that the system uses the CL110-A cabinet and the N110-A network. The "H" after the "A" indicates that the system uses LE111H (ceramic magnet) woofer. There is a possibility there could have been some L110As manufactured with the LE111A woofers or someone just forgot to die stamp the "H" on the foilcals. What are the serial numbers of the two that have no "H" die stamped?

sbenyo, since the serial number (30551 A) is on low side for L110As, I would have to say that they are probably early production L110As. You could remove a woofer from one of them to confirm that they do have LE111H woofers.

Thanks. I guess it is L-110A. I am trying to avoid removing the woofer but I may finally get the courage and do it. :)
