Hello There-

I just found a pair of 4311's, and they appear to be the earliest model, with no "A" or "B" designation. They have a 2212 woofer, but the mid-range is a LE5-2. The "Studio Monitor Reference Chart" shows the mid as a 2105 for that model. Any ideas about why this might be? Are the 2212's rarer than the 2213? I haven't found a whole lot about them on this site.

The tweeters were non JBL replacements, so I found a pair of LE25-4's on Epay. I hope they'll be OK.

Any ideas on replacing the plaque on the front? It got kinda kinked when I pulled it off to check out the xo's.

BTW, I used to have a pair of C38's with the D130 and 075, but got rid of them, foolishly ;-(

Great forum, fantastic speakers!!!

hi. and welcome aboard!

it seems right. if i remember corectly my 4311 have the same drivers as yours.

LE5-2 is the same as 2105

i think the 2213 is a newer model.

2212 is basically the same as 123A. That, and the LE5-2 should be quite appropriate for an early model 4311.

As for the tweeter- I see no reason an LE25-4 shouldn't work. It's technically different than the LE25 original (uses a different cone kit), but for the life of me, I can't tell a difference in sound at all between ANY of the LE25 variants (LE25, LE25-2, LE25-4, LE25-6). Other than cosmetics, it's the same thing functionally, AFAICT.

Regards,
Gordon.
