Love the beautiful woods they are using, the shape is just too weird for me :dont-know: reminds me of some sort of pod that you step into and get transported...a matter transporter thats it :D

Not to lessen the magnificent effort and care that went into the fabrication, but to me it brings to mind the phrase, "Polishing a turd."

Yes, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

I do like the "leaning back" look, but I prefer the Usher Dancer series.

To me it's like hot rods: I can appreciate the workmanship but the result confuses me. :crying:

And also in the "beer holder" :D

Yeah...Nice wood grain, but not a fan. I prefer more svelte lines...Unless we're talking '66 427 Cobra...which is kinda like Jayne Mansfield.

Very nice craftmanship, but way to showoff for my taste.

I had to sleep on it before coming to a conclusion and came to the determination this design is WAY too ostentatious for my liking. Nice woodwork though

Helps to have the right tools. The front baffles look to be CNC aluminum.

Thanks for the links there Stéphane.

It's a very impressive project although I don't care at all for the looks.

Spend a long time building up DIY skills - Check!
Spend a small fortune on drivers & veneers - Check!
Assess plans to make sure its butt ugly - Check!
Hit it with the ugly stick a dozen more times to be sure - Check!
Created a turd? - Check!
Commence polishing........

It looks like the drivers alone are $8764.
They are tapered like a turd but there is still something vaguely familiar that I like.

Yes, I had never seen either of them before, but I too prefer the look of the USHER speakers below to the organic pod look of the first ones posted.

The design is something new, I appreciate that much more than just cloning something designed by others.

The artist is just ahead of his time.

Very true :applaud: but he spent over $9k and ended up with something that looks like half a cockroach stood on end.

Gotta love the photo of the fancy horns and tube amp being fed by an MP3 player. :crying:

It's an I-Pod could be loaded with Apple Lossless. It is funny though would expect a R2R or a turntable.
Watch out for those fullrangers about the size of a dust cap on a 15". Bass in spades with those horns!
Rob:)

True, but its still a $2 DAC in the player being used.

Nope, he sure doesn't- and the bottom two are exceedingly poorly designed (don't know enough about the top one). The "pod" shape works well for diffraction on all the mid/bass drivers, but that's a worst-case diffraction nightmare on the tweeter- and will be right where it's the biggest problem. It's fine for omnis if you use a small flange tweeter but not with the millenium as shown.

And the "horns".... that's a resonant mess designed by someone with no notion of what they're doing acoustically, a lifestyle piece at it's worst. Complete and utter garbage.

Me - "You're kidding, right"

There is no doubt they are bespoke speakers and as such, stupid-expensive.
(I'm not making a QUALITY comment, just stating that they are no doubt high-priced.)
