Top end ideas for JBL 3678

I was able to get some 3678 low frequency cabs with 2226 and networks dirt cheap locally. They are missing the high frequency jbl 2426 and 2342 horn/lenses. I was wondering if there is any more economical top end I can match with the current network/crossover, I cannot afford these parts new and even used they are still pretty steep..unless someone has some around they are willing to deal on...

Any how i looked at the B&C DE250 as a possible substitute but I am not sure how well it would work with the factory network, and I do not want to rebuild into a 4pi as they entails new box, crossover, and top end.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, trying to find an economical way to get these running. They will be used in a home theatre as L/R channel and eventually I will try to source a third for center.

The DE250 on a JBL waveguide would be an economical solution, although I'm not sure how the existing crossover will match to it. I think the 2426/2342 was crossed at 1.2kHz, but someone else here may know more about that.

You'll need an adapter to fit the DE250 to that waveguide, this one isn't bad:

Another nice waveguide that uses a bolt-on driver is the QSC:

And finally, another "good value" driver is the Radian 475PB:

The Radian 475PB makes it all the way to 20kHz, vs. about 17-18kHz tops for the DE250.

I have actaully just found the wave guide for 35 each locally so that is all set, I can get the 2426 from jaminjersey for 175- so not much over the alternatives. I guess the biggest issue is how another compression driver would work with the crossover, and for the small amount of difference in cost I think I may be better off sticking with the JBL. I just wish I could find a better deal on the compression drivers...I will have to keep scouting.

Check the 2426 diaphragms real carefully. Jammin Jersey is reasonably reputable, but sometimes they don't check the used drivers as well as they might.
