Hi,

I am (still) in the middle of renovating a pair of JBL4343 speakers.I have just acquired a 5235 active crossover, but it comes with an anonymous crossover card, operating at 150Hz.

What I need is either a 52-5140 card which is specifically for 4343 speakers, or a schema of the card so that I can build my own. I might be able to modify the 150Hz card, but the schema seems essential to me.

Can anyone help with schema or other information about the route that I am taking with this?

Thanks for the help

George

Hi,

thanks for the reference, but I could only find a scheme for the 5325 itself (which includes a skeleton schema for the plug-in cards). I could not find anything which would let me build a card myself.
Am I missing something here?

I posted schematics many years ago but evidently not even Google can find the thread now. That link I sent you via PM was where RobH3606 had reposted the schematics. I'm sure I have them on some backup drive somewhere.

I have all the original JBL drawing files but I think most of them have faded too far to be of much use.

Nevermind, it looks like Grumpy found the thread.
Thank you sir!

Well thanks to everyone on this. It seems that in the 5235 manual the card design shown is for the simple non-populated cards. In the earlier crossover manuals they actually show populated card designs.
Apart from that I am now awash with information on this card, so when my crossover arrives it should be a simple case of pulling out the existing card and modifying it. Failing that.. sod's law... I think building a card cannot be too difficult, providing I can get the right tolerance components.
Thanks to all for the help on this

Just post pics of the cards you find inside the 5235 and we will help.

Is there any supplier for blank 18db cards?

5234a modules are dirt cheap and I wouldn't mind experimenting with differential cards in the same crossover. Say 50Hz and 80Hz to feed a 4520 (one woofer crossed at 80 and the other crossed at 50).

PS I already have a 5234a with 80Hz cards, purchased for a whopping $25.
