Hi , i have picked up a pair of these cabinets which have proven to be in great shape, all the drivers are working well. i have stripped them down and made a small repair to the baby bum horn flare which has gone very well, my problem is the crossover schematic from jbl http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Sound%20Power%204700%20Series/4716A.pdf is very ambiguous regarding the polarity of the 2132 woofer, any input would be great. the schematic says blk + and red - i dont want to get the polarity wrong. best regards Greg

Hi, As is usually the case with this type of crossover, the bass output is 90 lagging phase and the Hi output is leading phase, resulting in a 180 phase difference between the two drivers. To restore the phase, one driver is wired out of phase. The schematic is correct.

Allan.

Thanks Allan, i understand the phase relation between the high and low branches of the circuit but was confused with the woofers polarity as shown on the crossover schematic , all good now thanks
