Hi all,

A long time ago someone made some rather neat wooden clones of these horns.
I used to have the CAD file but it's forever lost on an old computer.
Does anyone still have the file so I can get a set cnc'd?

Thanks

Frank

If you are referring to John W's jaw-dropping walnut beauties, I think "rather neat" falls a bit short on the description. That's like calling a Bugatti Veyron a nice car.:D

Very true, the 'gift' of British understatement:)

Thanks for reposting those pics... I either missed them or forgot about them. Yep, once again John impresses!

...Digging out the Thread...

I'm quite interested in the CAD files too.

The background is: at the moment i'm listening with the 4892 Speakers (like my Nichname here, i know, very creative :p)
They aren't beauties, so i am planning to rebuilt the cabs and use another, less functional looking horn which allows a lower crossover to the 1400's.

Designing the cabinet for the bassdriver is not the problem, but the horn...especially the throat. Here in Germany offers some manufacturers CNCed woodhorns, but the throatdesign looks compared to the JBL-Horns simple. It is doubtful that they will perform so good like the original.

Crossover will be 3-way active with a DCX2496 and combined with two doubble 15" Subwoofers i'm already using.

So i considered the H9800 Horn. The walnut version looks really beautiful!
I would be glad if someone can send me the CAD-Files. Maybe i will find sb. wo can mill them for an affordable price.

Greetings
Tilmann

p.s. sorry for the bad english. I seldom practice writing in english, so i'm out of practice
