I have not heard many JBL's. I would like to know if what is listed below is typical of the overall JBL sound. I have these (as well as some bookshelve (L830, E50) speakers. In orther words, are there some models that sound really different than the range of these models?

830T -'80 model, I think
630T - same line-notch down
L5
S/2600
1400 Array

Broad question, I understand, but I am curious. Beyond the Arrays, which I cannot afford, I am curious to what to look for if something came along (doubtful in my area of the U.S.) that would give me a better idea of the JBL experience. I suppose the 250 series could be one but some have said they sound a bit like the Arrays. I had a chance on L300's recently but did not pull the trigger.

Kinda' ridiculous question, I suppose, but thanks anyway.

In my opinion you should look for another pair of the L300, or some 43XX studio monitors. The 4333A is (almost) the same as the L300. If you want some speakers not so expensive, the L65. L100 or some of the smaller studio monitors is also an option.

Remember all of these "old" speakers maybe need some work.

The L250 and 250Ti will take you in another direction than the one you're considering, I think. Nonetheless, they're definitely worth a listen and an acquisition if the price is right.
