Has anyone heard of JBL or Harman merging with (or buying) the Brazilian Selenium loudspeaker company.
I visited my local JBL Pro-sound distributor to discuss purchasing some raw drivers, and he mentioned they were now importing JBLSELENIUM units. I googled and found the following webpage:
http://www.jblselenium.com/ (http://www.jblselenium.com/)

For all appearances, the webpage looks legitimate, and has the JBL Selenium ( by Harman) logo's splashed all over the place.

did I miss the announcement of the merger?

Pretty sure I heard something about Harman buying Selenium at least 6 months ago -
maybe as an aside in another thread from 4313B ...?

JBL has been using the selenium tweeters for a bit now, right?

Every Selenium sold is profit for the company... why wouldn't they want them sold in every country of the world?

I just assumed Harman would use their excellent merchandising strategy for Selenium that's been so successful for JBL.

I just assumed Harman would use their excellent merchandising strategy for Selenium that's been so successful for JBL.I suppose it is possible that somewhere in the aquisition it stated that Harman wasn't allowed to totally eff up Selenium.

Good luck with that!

Cheap labor, lax business laws, non-existent environmental legislation -- sounds like corporate heaven!

One thing is certain, we'll exploit the everloving hell out of that fact.
