First - we are not customer support and are just fans of Altec Lansing and JBL speakers and older gear.

The current company doing business as Altec Lansing simply bought the name when the original
Altec Lansing company went out of business years back.

But I Googled your device and found info on what it is here:
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/altec-lansing-imt800-mix-digital-boombox-for-iphone-and-ipod/

I don't know that music player - but if I made a casual guess as a software developer,
I'd say FW means Firmware ... the basic instructions set for the gadget that is put in a chip
and that tell the hardware how it communicates and operates the parts of the device.

Firmware is usually loaded at the factory and for much hardware, never gets updated -
but the FW code shown is nearly zero - looks like it has dumped the original firmware somehow.

Did it take a power hit or fail in some way recently?

Your best bet is to contact the factory or customer support and see what can be done -
its possible that the owner can't do much about that problem.

Has anyone figured this out? I am having this exact issue, and unless I can fix it, I will have to toss the whole thing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
