Hi gang,
Newbie here, but quite experienced in speaker building (but not active for many years) with a question about the Mastering Labs crossovers built for the Big Reds. I have searched the web for info whether or not these xovers are a time aligned design. I have seen what seem to be knowledgable people, both stating they are, or aren't. I'm confused, and don't want to go back to xover design school to have this answered.
So, you up to date knowledgeable guys, are these a time aligned crossover? Are there published improvements? Are the F-Dyne caps polypropylene? Can they be improved with better, or different design caps? ie Oil filled, Vitamin Q or whatever is hot this week in caps? :bouncy:
As you know, there is not much room in the orignal xover box, and I don't want to destroy the value of originality by hacking it, but if I can squeeze some improvements into the existing box, then I would consider it. Could also start from scratch with new xovers but that's a whole other topic.
