Custom made JBL monitors from the seventies

I recently bought a pair of custom made speakers from the late seventies, apparently assembled in Denmark. The measures are ; h 36,5, w 19,5 and d 19. On the front they have a metal label; JBL Loudspeaker Components. Inside there are some nice components; LX13 + N8000, 077, LE85 + H91 and one LE15A. I havent had a chance yet to listen to them, as the LE15A´s are being reconed at the moment.
Any comments on this, did JBL sell kits back then, or what? Has anybody heard of similar kits somewhere else? How do they sound?

The Swedish importer at that time sold JBL kits.

Hi. Any pictures? This is almost the same components as is L300 (4333 is the pro version), except for the networks and that the woofer was the 136A (2231A), and yes, you could (still can I believe?) buy every component separately and build your own cabinet.

Sounds like the S7 kit - LE15A, LE85/HL91, LX13 with the 077/N8000 add-on.

Sounds like the S7 kit - LE15A, LE85/HL91, LX13 with the 077/N8000 add-on.

is nothing correct??You're correct in that the L300 components were also available. One could have a two way system with the 136A, LE85/HL92 and LX80 or a three way system with the 136A, LE85/HL92, 077 and LX300. There was also an L200 system using the 136A, LE85/HL91 and LX200B.

Thanks a lot for this info, it was nice with a little background knowledge about these speakers. Perhaps later I can post some pics when i´m done with the reconejob of the LE15A´s.
