A new compression driver is in town:

1.5" exit / 4" aquaplased Ti diaphragm with neo magnet like the 2452H-SL

It's not in the posted driver list yet. I wonder what the cost is and if it's the same as a 2452-SL

most likely a diaphragm change to the ribbed, coated version.

this was done before when the 2450SL became the 2450SL-a with the exact same diaphragms ( sans the screw-on terminal posts )

The 2452H-SL is shorter and lighter than the 2451, particularly the path from diaphragm to mounting flange is shorter. The phase plug is vitrually against the bug screen on the 2452H-SL's I have here. Is the 2452/53 phase plug the same "coherent Wave" phase plug that started with the 2446/47 and continued through the 2450/50SL/SL-A/51?

RE: diaphragms, if I understand you:

a 2450SL has a smooth, coated diaphragm (as do the 2452H-SL - seen by my own eyes)
a 2450SL-A has a ribbed, coated diaphragm (and, in turn, the 2453H-SL does if your assumption is correct)

The 2450SL/SL-A drivers are otherwise identical? Basically a 2451 motor with the smaller 3.25" 4-bolt pattern like all the new 3" & 4" drivers instead of the 4.5" circle of the 2447/2451? The 2451 and 2450H-SL motors have the same overal dimensions
