View Full Version : Does an L-300 really need a sub for 2 channel music applications??

I just bought a pair having not heard them for 25 years. Now the 136A woofs are off to Orange County for new surrounds and a regauss.

I don't play a lot of pipe organ music and no rap, so can't the stock L-300 configuration carry the load for most jazz and orchestral programming??

They're good and strong to 30 Hz.

I have never felt the need to get a sub. The lower the music goes the more I am impreesed with the ability of the woofers. To get a sub that will perform at lower frequencies than the 136a and have the definition that the 136a will put out in its range, is going to be costly for the average Joe.
