They have LE30 tweeters, LE10A woofers and LX-3-1 networks. The cross-overs have Dec 9th, 1961 stamped on them if that helps

Curious what model these are and if it's worth getting the woofers refoamed and what ever those tweeters will need.

Thanks

Looks like a C48 Madison cab with the S5 speaker system.

Thanks so much staphane!

Anybody have any experience with these speakers? Should I be fixing those drivers and using them in this system or save them for something better?

LE30's were an 075 converted to a direct radiator design. They didn't last long, and general consensus seems to be that they sound mediocre. Also, because of the exposed aluminum diaphragm, they are irresistible to touch, and easy to damage. No replacement parts are available, and clean examples usually sell for $500+ on Ebay. For this reason, refurbing your speakers is probably not worth it. However, I think it would be interesting to refoam the woofers and at least see how they sound - I'm sure the LE30's still work, and that the damage doesn't degrade the sound quality noticeably - let us know what you think!

Hi Rex.
We should take those tweeters apart and see what we can do with them!
