were chains still installing Altec equipment in 2000? Famous Players and Cineplex were all EV and/or JBL by then.

Chains still had Altec's by 2000.Projectionists in my region praised the Altecs for their acuracy. As for Altec model A10 the best person to ask would be Steve on Film Tech I don't know for sure.The new A 6 is still one of the preferred models and is still installed in many large seating capacity theaters.I could go on and on . But yes JBL dominates the small screen cineplex.
