How are the two related ? Do both of them manufacture Altec clones?

Do they compete or cooperate, is one of them OEM to the other?

If I look the trademarks they are competitor.
"Great Plains Audio, The Engine, Pascalite, “The Legacy Lives On”, and the Little Maestro are trademarks of Great Plains Audio, Inc.
Altec, Lansing, Altec Lansing, Voice of the Theatre, and Duplex are registered trademarks of Altec Lansing Technologies Corporation
Iconic, Tangerine, and Mantaray are registered trademarks of the Iconic Manufacturing Company, LLC
University Sound is a registered trademark of the Telex Corporation
Symbiotik is a registered trademark of the Altec Corporation
All other trademarks as noted."

Silly me, could have checked that before. So Altec has given away Tangerine and Mantarray to Iconic, and GPA looks after all the rest. So there should be no overlap in product portfolio?

The relationship as I understand it ;
- GPA manufactures transducers ( woofers , drivers, crossovers ) but no cabinets .
- Iconic uses GPA components within the speaker systems that Iconic builds .

I checked out both of the web sites. And if you notice the foilcal on each of the respective drivers, the font is nearly the same, also the Iconic website looks similar to the old GPA website before the GPA site was updated about a year ago. A coincidence?
