I am seriously planning a compact two way system.

What would be the best way to work with a 435Be and H9800 ?
I still have the E145-8, but a friend offer me a pair of néodym 14' speakers : the 1400PRO.
Do you have any experience with this unit ? I heard they were mounted in ARRAY professionnal series. And I believe the 1400nd installed in K2 s9500 is not that far. Am I wrong ?

The 1400nd is an underhang design, and has a foam surround.
On the other hand the 1400pro has more voice coil area, and should be less sensitive to power compression (ie more dynamic).
You can look for the specification and measurement of both drivers in the technical section.

You can also contact Guido to get these 1400pro reconed as 1400nd

The 1400PRO is a very nice unit, I reconed 8 of them last year for a customer.

It's an overhang design and I don't think you can recone it as a 1400nd, the top plate has to be thicker on the latter to support good excursion with an underhang coil (I never saw the 1400nd so I can't be formal on this)

VC gap depth: 25mm
Field strength: 0.75 Tesla
VC 1400Pro: 23mm
VC 1400ND: 15mm

So that would make the VC of the 1400PRO slightly underhung as well?

Don't want to argue here, I didn't measure the 1400PRO gap, but I was sure it was an overhang design.

Well, I keep thinking to use the 1400pro. No need to recone into 1400nd.
It's more important, to have a good crossing with the horn driver than a low bass.

Good, I learned something today.
See, I reconed 8 of them last year and didn't even notice :o:
