Many will respond with a big "who cares" but I actually like this guy. He is one of the few from the Stereophile crew of bogus sell-offs that occasionally gives an honest review.

Not me -- it's always great to see newer JBL gear get some audiophile love, since it happens far too rarely.

Granted, the 1400 won't win any beauty contests; the 115-pound beast stands 46 inches tall, 15 inches wide, and 19 inches deep

Yeah, like some of those other systems are real beauties... :rotfl: :barf:

Yeah, like some of those other systems are real beauties... :rotfl: :barf:I would certainly rather have the 1400s in my living room over a pair of large Wilsons... but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The Wilsons are about as ugly looking as a speaker can get in my opinion. The Array is simply odd looking. Sonically at ~$11K a pair the 1400s are a solid bargain in today's audio market. True they don't have rhodium plated billet copper inputs, or hand wound flat ribbon inductors, or capacitors from the unobtainium mines of Audiophilia, but what they do have is pure audio excellence. You bet there is better out there, but I am not sure that a definite better exists at their price point or even a good bit above it.

Word is slowly getting out... the sales of 1400s have been steadily increasing. I guess we won't have to fear the bean counters killing them off anytime soon.
