This question may be more generic to non-down firing subs, but I figured I'd post the model number just in case. Here's a link to the owner's manual for the PSW-1200: http://www.jbl.com/resources/Brands/jbl/Products/ProductRelatedDocuments/en-US/OwnersManual/PSW1000%20om.pdf

I've had a pair of JBL PSW-1200s for 15+ years and have always had them setup the same way...horizontal where the wording on the back is upright.

Due to wanting to shift some stuff around, I was wondering two things:

1. would it be OK to stand the sub up in a vertical orientation?
2. would it be OK to turn it upside down and use it?

the second question may seem odd...but the reason I ask it is I've considered flipping the sub over to get the magnet further away from a rear-projection TV.

Thanks.
Greg

In case anybody else searches for this...here's what I got back from JBL:

Hi Greg,
*
You can certainly put the PSW1200 on its side, or even upside down.* The placement does not matter.* It will not negatively effect the sonic quality or performance.
*
I hope this helps.

I was more concerned with heat/vibration than I was sonic issues, so we'll see how it goes.
