Here is one I haven't run across before. Is this a full range or Musical Instrument driver? What size is it?

According to Hal Cox, the Altec Lansing model 400 created quite a buzz at the AES meeting he attended after its introduction. It was considered at the time to be the best ever 8" speaker; according to Hal, Jim Lansing produced the D208 to compete with it. My suspicion is that Lansing had his hand in the development of the 400, the 12" 600 and the 15" 603 Dia-cone speakers, they were all introduced about or shortly after his departure from Altec in mid 1946. These full range drivers all had aluminum center domes, as did several of the products of Lansing's new company, as we know so well.
