Crossover for 2118H and 2404 question

I want to cross a 2404H-1 tweeter over to a single 2118H driver. I've looked at the schematic for the 4612OK system, and I can use the high pass section as is, but what should I use for the low-pass? That system looks like a 12db/octave for the tweeter and 6db/octave for the woofer, with a second woofer operating full range. Is that correct? Thanks, I will appreciate any help.

Same question for my 4628B.
Someone here said 3K X-over point is too low for 2404H-1,i studied some references,and found that 5K is somehow a suitable point for 2404H-1,I plan to try it by active X-over.:blink:

I believe that the 4628B and the 4612OK systems used 3khz as a crossover with 12db/octave slopes. It was fine for high spl commercial systems, so I can't see why that crossover point would be a problem from a functional standpoint. Perhaps 5khz would just sound better. But then, is the 2118H suitable for use out to 5khz? My application is for rear surrounds in a home theater.

Take a look at the 4730A speaker specs. 2226 woofer, 2118 mid, 2404 tweet. The 2118 has no high cut and simply rolls off naturally which provides a crossover pte of 3500 with the 2404 (ie, 6 db down at 3500). Anyway, I had the drivers so wired it up as an experiment, thinking about a possible hi fi application. It wasn't "bad" . . . but to these ears used to big horn treble, it just had no "bloom" - seemed closed, straining - not natural. Which, of course, is exactly what was happening - it was "out of gas." I later tried the 2118 in a 4-way configuration (300 - 1200) and found it sounded pretty darn good - not as good as a 2123, but it had some good qualities; was easy to listen to, seemed right at home. Anyway, I concluded that the 2118 was more of a regular mid-range speaker . . . at least in terms of hi fi use. This and 99 cents will get you a coffee at MacDonalds. Mike

Yes, 5K for 2118H is almost the same good,study the documentation of 2118H:D,it is a compromise point for both.

It is just the way that many PA cab work:let the woofer go through without HF cut off,to make them sound loudly.but in home hifi use,we must crossover them in specific frenquency period,to get clear and accurate sounding.

Zilch(a very kind man that has gone recently) once linked to the GOLDEN SOUND website which they proved that 2404H and 2118H can be combined smoothly.
