Can I use a jbl 2240h basket and cone it with 2245h recone kit and essentially (spec wise ) have a 2245h ( the magnets and frames are almost identicle ) Joe

Yes you can.

The magnets are the same 1.22T units

Yes, I've re-coned quite a few 2240H's in to 2245H's. If you're doing it yourself, take your time. The 2245 cone is very easy to misalign.

How so? I've picked up a 2245H recone kit for my 2245H (B460 project) and don't want to jack it up. I've done lots of refoams, but have only done one (NOS) 122a recone that came out great. I replaced the rotted foam first with a Rick Cobb surround before starting.

I understand as long as all the proper prep is done, the shim is flat-bottomed in the gap, and some common sense is used, it should be a breeze right? I'll take any pointers.
