Does anyone have any recone kits available for 16 ohm LE15A? Im told that the only replacement availabl is the 8 ohm 2235. What modifications need to be done to the LX5 crossovers?

the 2235 kit will NOT work in the 2215/LE15. VERY different mag gap depths. this has been covered many many times on the forum(s).

Thanks Sub but I'm looking for an answer. The answers via the search engine here point to alternatives that are not available when they were posted.

Be very careful using the C16R2215. It doesn't fit all of the LE15A's that I have tried to repair. Apparently, there was a slight change in the LE15A sometime and the early ones just don't like that cone kit. Also, since the driver is so old, make sure you check the gap before attempting a recone. I've seen quite a few of those old LE15A's with a very slightly shifted pole piece that will quickly destroy a new, and very expensive, cone kit.

Cheers,
Zach

8 months later they are finally in!! :applaud: Grills are completed. Le85's have new diaphrams, and now the LE15s will have the new kits.
