I have been unable to find anyone who can rebuild the 044-1 tweeters for my L250s. Is there a close sub I can use. The L250s are in otherwise near mint shape and I want to get them back in service. I am using a pair of L65 Jubals but they don't have the same kick. I am also considering moving the L250s into a theater room espscially if I have to put in a lesser tweeter. If I end up going this route what would be a good match for the center and should this be a factor in my tweeter selection?

JBL lists the 035TIA as "last resort" for replacement.
The 044 repair kit is discontinued.

So Ebay is your last chance as Figge said.

Thank you for your help the local JBL pro servicr guy told me there were no more rebuild kits. After getting word that there ara plenty of kits, I called JBL and sure enough they have plenty. The service tech said he forgot to add the 1 and was looking up the 044. I do think that that kind of mistake is fairly serious especially when dealing with speakers thay are so collectable and just plain good. Thanks again for the correct info. John

It's not like a couple of space shuttles blew up. Humans are always making mistakes. Personally I think humans themselves are mistakes... :p

In any case, good luck getting them back in shape. :)
