Nice find. If you are lucky and the fans are quiet you'll enjoy these amps very much.
They sound excellent(I use the MC1250 and an MC650) and are very well built/over specified.

..then you may want to read this thread on a uk hifi forum about possible consequences( from post 45 onwards I think);http://www.zerogain.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18411&highlight=MC1250

Hi,
I just changed the fan on my amplifiers.
The model chosen is the Noctua NF-R8 rotating at 800 revolutions / minute
The result is very quiet

Hello,

Best upgrading !

But...
Have you the electronic schematic about this amplifier DCA 450 ?

Many thanks

Hi,
Yes, really less noise.
No, I do not have the electronic schematic of this amplifier.
This summer I also change all the capacitors.

For more space, I just installed all the amplifiers in the attic above my listening room.
More fan noise.
The active filter EV DX46 was placed with the amplifiers, I command by the network.

Hi,
A hum appeared on the left channel of the MC1250, after some tests to verify that this does not come from a ground loop, I decided to changed.
This amplifier is built in 1998 in the design life of capacitors.
After opening the cover, a problem arises capacitors (15000uF/120v) used are not easily discoverable standards and unable to change size.
Good news, these models are sold by MC2 for repairing.

Stephane, If you could find caps with a slightly higher voltage rating they would work. Say 150vdc. And a slight increase in capacitance wont hurt either.

But a those capacitor are trash.

One MC1250 channel per 15" woofer, and 1 MC450 channel per compression! Nice!
What is the nominal impedance of your woofers?
