Hello

I would like to revive my SUMMIT cabinet, is there anyone who know if the original cabinets are waxed or varnished ? I made a little try with varnish remover but the resultat is strange, so maybie it's wax.................

I believe the L300 was finished with an oil finish, but if it wasn't then it was a lacquer based finish. Here is JBL's recommendation for both types of finish: http://www.lansingheritage.org/html/jbl/reference/general/finish.htm

Brochure claims hand-rubbed oiled walnut:

I have always done this on my Walnut JBL's. First apply good oil, after abut 20 minuets wipe off with a soft cloth. Let it dry. The day after I have used a good (expensive) wax to the cabinet, and they looks like new. I does this ones a year.
